Maranoa Veterinary Surgery is always on the look out for professional, self-motivated vets to join a REAL mixed practice so we can continue to grow the business. 

We pride ourselves in our standard of patient care with well-equipped facilities. We encourage continued professional development to ensure this standard remains high, by providing one week of paid conference leave and pay for the conference too. The practice services 20% beef cattle (calvings, pregnancy diagnosis, BBSE, prolapses and more), 10% equine and the remaining 70 % is made up of small animal, pocket pets, wildlife, goats, sheep and anything else that walks through our door. With many excellent clients dedicated to their animals, there is opportunity to explore many diagnostic challenges. The practice is equipped with Vetscan biochemistry, haematology & qlabs coag machine, overnight Idexx turnaround, 5 infusion pumps, Pulsator 4, cage camera monitoring, RX works, DR digital xray- portable, both large and small animal ultrasound, equine powerfloat, separate cat ward, and an equine facility with crush, 9 stables 3 day yards and surgery yard. For our large animal work a well equipped, purpose designed, tidy work ute is offered to ensure quality service to our clients further a field. The practice offers out of hours services, in the past we have offered a four day work week which will require you to work a 1 in 3 on call roster, and 1 in 3 long weekends, however this is negotiable. After hours is fairly minimal. Above award wages offered.

Roma is home to the largest cattle selling complex in the Sountern Hemisphere. It’s a mid sized country town with all necessary shops, sporting facilities and social activities and was voted QLD #1 tourism town in 2024. Roma is also home to the famous Roma Cup, Easter in the Country Festival and Dachshund Day/ Running of the Weiners. Carnarvon Gorge is only a 2.5 hour drive away making for a perfect weekend away or there are daily flights to Brisbane (50mins) for city weekend getaways and easy conference access. The Roma airport means we really aren’t that far from anywhere!
